What websites are out there that can give a beginning scrapbooker good layout ideas? Also any ACTIVE message boards for scrap booking. I am a beginner and also don’t have all the $$ to spend on things like the cricut and all that…I just want to get some BASIC scrap booking ideas for a beginner!

Try going to Cropmom.com at http://www.cropmom.com a digital scrapbooking, collage, card making site. It is easy to use, in fact, some paper scrapbookers use the site to see how a layout might look. The site has templates and thousands of graphics to get started. It is free to use for screen quality layouts. Give it try it might give you some good ideas and it is good place to start.

Okay so i have to make 2 scrap books by June!!! and i have creativity but when it comes to scrap booking, i just don’t know what to do. One is for a baby being born in June(a boy) and the other is for my brother who is graduating and leaving for the army in june, i really want both of them to be special but i need ideas/tips/advice of how to make it good. I want a cricut but they are so expensive. any tips are appreciated!!

With such a short time to make your scrapbooks I would suggest looking for kits with the themes you need. Some kits are some with scrapbooks while others are not, but the kits will usually give you coordinating paper, stickers, and embellishments. The kits will save you a lot of time looking for different papers and accessories and you can spend more time adding photos and choosing your layouts. If you are really running short on time some companies make pre-made pages and all you have to do is add pictures to the pre-designed and decorated pages.

Visit your local craft stores (Joanns, Michaels, etc) and bring coupons with you so you can save money in the process! Have fun and good luck.

Were on Amazon did you find an idea book for Cricut Cutter? I have tried putting in every word I could think of to find a design book. What words did you type in bring up the idea book? Thank You

I am unsure of the words in your question "Cricut Cutter" but I went to Amazon and made sure ‘books’ was in the first search box toward the left on the top of the page, and I put ‘The Idea Book’ in the second search box there.

A great many Idea Books came up, many that looked interesting, one or two even on the first page that mention ‘design’ in the titles… take a look and I hope you find the book you’re searching for.
Oh, and keep hitting the word ‘Next’ at the bottom of each page if you don’t see what you want right away.

need help with finding product/idea for scrapbook which will not be too sticky, I can’t get all the stick from the edges on small items run through a Xyron

Narrow double stick tape? How about one of those double stick adhesive runners that just makes a sticky line on the paper? I have used them with good results, and they go around curves too,if you are gluing letters and numbers.

We have been married for 13 years and he is leaving for 6 weeks I am putting together a scrapbook/ journal one page for each day he is gone. My brain can only come up with so much… any cute/kinky suggestions? I would love any advice. The most we have been apart is a week and that was hell with my 3 kids I don’t know how I am going to do it with out him for 6 weeks, UGH! Thanks in advice for taking the time! Try using song lyrics in your next layout.

Song lyrics can be a great source of title and page inspiration for a scraper.

I ordered some scalloped note cards online in 2" and 3" and I would like to make my own however I have no idea what machine makes these cards whether it is the Cricut or the Cuttlebug or something else. I want to also make some tags in shapes of flowers and other scalloped looks. Can anyone tell me what machine will help with all of these things?

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can find a cartridge or which cartridge has these Mickey Mouse shapes. You see people selling them on ebay, but I would like to find a cartridge or even scal file that has these images. Any ideas how the people selling them on ebay made them or where they found them? I’m looking because my kitchen theme is disney and I would like to make wall vinyls of these images. Thanks!
the two cartridges that they sell at those places are micky font and mickey & friends and neither one has the glove shape or the shorts. but thanks for trying.

I am going to start doing my daughters birthday cards and we’ve decided it’s going to be Panda themed but the only cartridge that carries a Panda that I can seem to find is the "create a critter" one but the problem with that one is that it has a hat on it. I’m looking for a plain panda bear. If not can anyone give me any ideas on how I can modify it or if you’ve done a panda bear can you give instruct me on how you made it please….

It is so funny that I came across your post today. I am also looking for a panda bear cricut cartridge for my daughter’s first birthday! It is such a unique theme so I thought I wouldn’t come across any ideas. Anyway, I don’t like the pagoda one either. I went on the provocraft website and looked at the digital handbook for the Create a Critter cartridge and it looks like the hat is just an accessory and you can make the panda bear without it with 3 layers of black and white paper. (you can see it on page 58 of the handbook) Good luck with your panda bear party!!

I am a scrapbook addict. Already done sizzix ( friend now has it as it is to heavy to take to crops or even move from table to storage area). I have a bundle invested in Quickutz. Love them. Computer illiterate so silhouette is out of the question. But I like the idea of type and cut letters and words etc…. so whats the deal with the cricut? any good? regrets on the 300+ purchuse? Is the expression size (12×24) really worth the extra 100+ over the smaller version……. Help me with your experience plz. And what’s the create I just heard about never seen in store yet.

I got a cricut expressions and sometimes I wish I had a sissix or something small like that. When you begin using the cricut is a little bit frustrating and with something manual well there’s not much science on how to use it
and you also have to think "am I really going to need to cut something that big as 12×24?

I say you are fine with what you have but if you are interested in cutting vinyl to decorate your home or cutting chipboard then you might need to thing about the cricut expressions, but the cartridges are expensive I buy mine on ebay or at Michaels when the have a sale on them like twice a year
so think about this "are you ready to learn a more complicated cutting system?
