Cricut machine for scrapbooking…advice?

I am looking for a cricut machine for scrapbooking and am not sure what kind to get. I would like to hear from people who have had experience using them. Im not sure which would be better…the original one or the Cricut Expression…any ideas or opinions?

I have the expressions, it was intimidating at the beginning , but if you get the small one and you find out in no time how to use , you are going to want to get the bigger one, so if you are looking to make an nvestment n your cricut then get the big one, notice everyone I know that has the small cricut machine , later got the bigger , so why spending more money, just get the big one

look in you tube for cricut videos
go to www.cricut.com communty then messageboard and explore the cartridges they show pictures of crafts made with the cartridges

don’t buy stickers after I got my cricut

If you are going to buy I would go with the Expressions, which has a much larger cutting surface. There is a learning curve. Plan on taking the time to learn how to use it and practice before actually scrapping with it. My sister has cricut classes by here, which are very helpful. I can’t find any by me.

My mom got one 2 Christmases ago. The cricut Expressions. It is soo easy to use and is much more useful for scrapbooking because it fits a normal page, 12 x 12 i think. So you can use many different choices, and make your pages look wonderful. Besides, they have the most amazing letters, so you wont need to cut them out or in my case, use a sizzix any longer. I know the smaller one has all these options too, but they seem much more helpful in the Expressions. Full pages can be given a design, while in the regular Cricut only half the page can be worked with through the cricut. I absolutely love the Expressions. So helpful with school projects too!! :)

I had the same problem when I was looking to buy a Cricut. So here are some things I found helpful.

The original Cricut (also called a baby bug) cuts images from 1 inch to 5.5 inches. It comes with one cartridge, one blade, and one 12X6 mat.

The Expression cuts images from .25 inch to 24.5 inches.
For images over 11.5 inches you will need to buy a different cutting mat. It comes with one or two cartridges (depending on where you buy it, wal-mart has a pretty good deal right now) a blade, and one 12X12 mat.

There is one more Cricut. It is a Cricut Create. It cuts images from 1 inch to 11.5 inches, and it is priced a bit above the original cricut. It comes with one cartridge, blade, and 12X6 mat.

They all use the same cartridges and blades. You can use the 6X12 mat in all machines, the expression is the only one that can use a 12X12 or 12X24 mat.

When I bought mine, I got the baby one. Don’t get me wrong I loved it, but I knew as soon as I saw the expression that I had to have it. It comes in handy for scrapbooking. For one thing you can cut large images and boarders that can fit 12X12 pages. I find it handy for other projects too. We have a board at work that we decorate for the seasons and I’m always cutting out large things for it. I hope you get one that works best for you, I know you will love it.
